FocusStride editorial method

How We Review Supplements

FocusStride writes ingredient notes and product comparisons for men's supplements sold in Indonesia. This page explains how we do that: what we check, what we leave out, and how we handle updates when product information changes.

We're an editorial site based in Bandung. We don't sell supplements, and no product pays for a mention.

We describe what a listing states — format, ingredients, pack size, positioning — and nothing more.
We do not publish ratings, scores, or best-of lists. Structured comparison does the job better.
We update a note when a product's formula, pack size, or availability changes.

Registration and panel

What we look at first

Registration status, then the ingredient panel, then the product name. BPOM registration is the baseline check for any supplement sold in Indonesia; it tells you the product cleared the national process.

The panel tells us what the product is. The name tells us what the brand thinks it's selling. When those three align, the product is straightforward to describe. When the name and the panel pull in different directions, we say so, because that gap is exactly what a shopper needs to see.

How we check a listing

  • Read the BPOM registration reference published on the listing.
  • Read the panel the way a pharmacist would: ingredient names and amounts, one by one.
  • Compare the product name against the panel. Say it if they don't match.

Usage over outcome

Why we describe usage, not outcomes

A supplement's role is nutritional or botanical, and its effects are modest and routine-shaped. So we write about what zinc, ginseng, maca, pasak bumi, or saw palmetto are typically used for and how they usually appear on labels.

We don't tell you what an ingredient will do for your body. That restraint isn't caution for its own sake; outcome claims are the least reliable part of any supplement listing, and repeating them would make our pages less useful, not more.

Zinc Typically labelled for daily nutritional support. Most often appearing alongside B vitamins or in a standalone daily tablet.
Ginseng Listed in the traditional-herbal section of many vitality formulas. We describe the form and amount the panel states.
Maca and pasak bumi Root ingredients common in Indonesian marketplace listings. We note the format — capsule, powder, drink mix — and the amount printed.
Saw palmetto Usually positioned in prostate and vitality lines. We describe what the listing states about its role, not what it will do for you.

Product coverage

The product entities we cover

Our notes reference specific products sold in Indonesia. We describe what their listings state: format, key ingredients, pack size, and positioning. We don't add facts a listing doesn't support, and we don't invent specifications to fill a table.

Nutrimax Male Formula Rx A multivitamin-style men's formula sold through Indonesian pharmacies. We note the capsule format, the blend of vitamins and minerals on the panel, and how the listing positions it.
Natures Health Prostagone Positioned in the prostate-care category. Our note describes the herbal ingredients the panel lists and the pack format the seller publishes.
Nuvita Tri Zinc + Vitamin B6 A zinc and B6 combination tablet. We describe the two named actives, the tablet count, and the daily-use framing on the product page.
Naturelo One Daily Multivitamin for Men A once-daily plant-based multivitamin. We note the plant-derived ingredient sources the panel names and the bottle size available in Indonesia.
Nutrimax Prost Care and Natural Factors Prostcare Two prostate-positioned products from different makers. We compare the ingredient panels side by side and note where the listings state expiration or batch details, like the 2027 batch date on Natural Factors Prostcare.
GNC Men's Health and marketplace listings A retail line plus marketplace items like Male Booster Alpha. For marketplace listings we flag what the seller states and what they leave out, so you know which details to verify before buying.
Section 6 — No rankings. A short poster-style statement in the label field.

No rankings, no scores

We don't publish best-of lists, star ratings, or scores. Ranking supplements would require evidence we don't have and judgments we can't make on your behalf.

What we publish instead is structured comparison: format, ingredients, pack size, positioning. You can read it in a few minutes and decide which two products deserve a closer look. That's more honest than a numbered list, and more useful than a badge.

Section 7 — What we don't publish. A tight index stack on the ink ground.

Editorial boundaries

What we don't publish

If a product page doesn't tell us something, we leave the gap visible rather than filling it with plausible-sounding detail. Readers can usually tell when a supplement site is padding, and the padding is almost always the least trustworthy part of the page.

No invented studies We don't cite research that doesn't exist or stretch a source further than it goes.
No fabricated reviews or testimonials If we don't have a real reader quote, we don't write one.
No certification claims beyond the listing We repeat only what the product page states about registration and testing.
No before-and-after material We don't publish transformation imagery or outcome framing for supplement products.
Section 8 — Where our information comes from. A source list in the label field.

Sources

Where our information comes from

We read the panels, formats, and positioning published listings and brand pages carry, and we describe them in plain English. We don't republish marketing copy verbatim, and we don't treat a listing's claims as facts about what a product does.

Indonesian sources we reference

  • Guardian Indonesia
  • Natural Farm
  • Naturelo Indonesia
  • GNC Live Well Indonesia
  • Lazada Indonesia marketplace listings
  • Brand product pages for the eight products we cover

Information changes. Product pages get edited. We keep reading them.

Section 9 — How we handle updates. A green band with a reader-correction path.

How we handle updates

Product information changes: formulas get revised, packs are resized, listings are edited or retired. When we notice a change to something we've described, we update the note and the date. Expiration dates on catalog listings, like the 2027 batch date on Natural Factors Prostcare, are the kind of detail that can shift.

If you spot something out of date, tell us. Corrections are the most useful mail we get.

Section 10 — Reading our pages with the right expectations. A closing note on the ink ground.

Reading our pages with the right expectations

Our ingredient notes and comparisons are shopping tools. They help you understand labels, sort products into categories, and narrow a long list. They don't replace advice from a doctor or pharmacist, and they aren't written for anyone with a diagnosed condition.

If you're taking medication or managing a health issue, a professional is the right source. We're the label-reading layer that comes before that conversation.

Supplements are not medicines

Indonesian supplements are sold as dietary and nutritional products, not as drugs. Any product you buy is intended for nutritional or botanical support as a supplement to your regular diet. Consult a qualified health professional before starting a new supplement, especially if you take prescription medication.

Questions

Common questions about our method

The things readers ask most often. If your question isn't here, write to us and it may become one.

Do you accept payment for product mentions?
No. Every product we describe appears because it's listed in an Indonesian pharmacy, brand catalog, or marketplace, not because anyone paid for coverage.
Why don't you publish ratings?
Ratings imply a suitability judgment we can't make for individual readers. Structured comparison does the same job without the false precision.
How often are pages updated?
When we notice a change in a product's format, ingredients, or availability. Product information moves slowly, but listings do get edited and packs get retired.
Section 12 — Closing CTA. A poster statement with three routes.

Read the notes before you read the labels

Start with the ingredient guide, compare two products side by side, or send us a correction. Each route leads to the same place: a clearer read on what's actually printed on the panel.
